I love to read. So, it’s painful when there just isn’t time to get into a good book. But that’s what makes short stories so wonderful. A lot of people discount short stories, but if more people who had busy lives would give them a chance they’d find that it satisfies their love for a good story when they don’t have time to read novels.
I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had time to pick up my Kindle often, but I have read some really great short stories in the short bursts of time I have to sit down a second here and there. “Dying to Write” is one of those.
At just 10 pages you won’t need a lot of time to read it, but it will make you laugh and keep you turning the pages all the way to the end. At first glance you may think you know exactly what the story is about, but it has a creepy little twist and a subplot, pretty hard to pull off in a short, but the author-Bon Rose-knows how to keep you on your toes.
There’s lots of humor in the story too, which is very important for me when it comes to horror. I am not the “it” type of horror fan, I like something with a little psychological twist and a lot of humor whether it is tongue in cheek sarcasm or outright laughter.
There are lots of great books out there. Don’t put off getting into your favorites and check out a few new ones while you’re at it. But when you just don’t have the time for a novel, try a short and see how much fun they can be while giving you a little lift in a hectic life.
